According to local authorities, a suspect in a horrific mass shooting at a residence in Oklahoma City killed his wife and three children before taking his own life.

After learning of the mass shooting on Monday at approximately 9:35 a.m., authorities classified it as a suicide murder.

Five dead were discovered inside the residence in Yukon, according to the first responders.

According to authorities, who were cited in an ABC News story, the guy, named as 42-year-old Jonathan Candy, shot and killed his 39-year-old wife Lindsay and their three children, ages 18 and 14 and 12 respectively.

The fourth kid was unhurt, according to the authorities.

According to a police statement on Tuesday, "it remains a mystery as to what caused Candy to murder his wife and three of his children."

"This is not a carbon monoxide or fentanyl deal," stated Oklahoma City Police Department Master Sgt. Gary Knight, characterizing it as a homicide. These folks passed away brutally."

In a statement, Knight added that the police are still unable to disclose the details of their investigation.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been up to 115 mass shootings documented so far this year. If, excluding the gunman, at least four persons are shot during a mass shooting, it is considered a mass shooting.
